Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino hails Arsene Wenger as one of the “greatest managers in football history” before the Frenchman’s final home game in charge of Arsenal.
sbo128  Wenger will depart Arsenal at the end of the season after managing the club for over 22 years, and he is expected to be given a guard of honour at the beginning of his last home game on Sunday.
The Frenchman presided over another poor campaign, leaving many to speculate that Wenger jumped before he was pushed. But despite an unremarkable end to his career with the Gunners, posterity will look favourably on the Wenger era, as one of the greatest ever.
During his tenure – the second longest in the English Football League – Wenger led Arsenal to three Premiership titles and seven FA Cups. Moreover, his ‘Invincibles’ side are the only club to win the Premier League without losing a game.
Pochettino, who has enjoyed a number of competitive encounters with the Frenchman has praised his managerial counterpart for his achievements.
“It will be difficult to say thank you enough,” he told a news conference (via Goal). “For the fans, for everyone that loves Arsenal, in the same way they love Wenger, I think it’s impossible to say thank you enough. A person that managed for nearly 22 years, for me it was a very successful 22 years.
