NFC South has two Super Bowl winning teams

The NFC South was among the blue bloods in pro football in 2017.

Last season saw the division send three of its four teams enter postseason competition Dontari Poe Jersey, with the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and New Orleans Saints all playing extra football. The Saints and Falcons made it the furthest, with each team making it to the NFC Divisional Round. Last postseason also was the first time since the division was created in 2002 that two of its teams, the Panthers and Saints, played each other in the playoffs.

The division can lay claim to fielding the best overall rotation of quarterbacks, which former league MVPs Cam Newton and Matt Ryan and one time Super Bowl champion Drew Brees all still playing in their prime into the 2018 season.
Now, ahead of the 2018 season, we have an understanding of who is favored to win the division this time around.

According to sportsbook.ag, the New Orleans Saints are the current favorites to repeat as division champions with 7/5 odds, followed by the Atlanta Falcons at 2/1 https://www.falconsatljersey.com/ben-ga … -c-59.html, the Carolina Panthers in third at 11/4, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers bring up the rear with 10/1 odds.

New Orleans is the most recent champion of the four team group, but Carolina boasts the most titles of them all, with five, and this coming season, the Saints are in position to match that mark and the Panthers to further their own hold on the record.

The Deep South’s best rivalry will once again play a heavy role in how the division rankings finish up, as it did last season. In their first meeting of 2017, a late season clash in Atlanta in December, the Falcons used a game clinching interception in the end zone to officially put themselves back into the NFC playoff race, while a Saints victory a few weeks later helped cement their hold on the division and put themselves a step closer to making their first playoff berth in four seasons.
This season https://www.falconsatljersey.com/sean-h … -c-60.html, the Saints and Falcons will square off on Thanksgiving for the first time ever.

The division’s quarterbacks are also among the favorites to claim the league’s MVP honor.

The Atlanta Falcons’ Matt Ryan and the Carolina Panthers’ Cam Newton both sit at 20/1 odds https://www.falconsatljersey.com/cam-ke … -c-58.html, with the New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees leading the divisional contenders at 15/1. Jameis Winston of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers comes in fourth at 50/1.

In all, the NFC South has two Super Bowl winning teams, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won Super Bowl XXXVII against the Oakland Raiders after the 2002 season, and the New Orleans Saints hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in a Super Bowl XLIV over Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts after the 2009 campaign. With the Atlanta Falcons playing in Super Bowl LI after the 2016 season, and the Panthers in Super Bowl 50, the NFC South became the first division since the 2002 realignment to have all four of its teams play in the championship game.
